I'm still alive!! (beleive it or not)

I have to start off by apologizing for the LOOOOOONNNNGG gap in posts. But, I have some very good excuses.

1. My family and I went on a 10 day trip with stops in Little Rock, AR, San Antonio, TX (where we went to a conference) than on to Dallas, TX, and Branson, MO (we went to another conference and visited the Sight and Sound Theatre) and finally back home!

2. Once I got back home I had to unpack and re-pack.

3. I was at Civil Air Patrol's Summer Encampment (basically a week long boot camp)

4. At Summer Encampment I was suprised when I was called up to receive the Honor Cadet Award (because all I was trying to do was survive)!

So basically I'm alive and will be posting [much] more regularly :P

Please pray for the people affected by the wildfire in Waldo Canyon, CO . Here is a link to a Google map of some of the damage done. Here is another link to before and after pictures of some of the neighborhoods.

The latest update that I've read is that the firefighters have controlled approx. 15-20% of the fire.

Please also pray for all the firefighters. These men don't get enough recognition. They put their lives on the line every single day! Please pray for their protection.

Yesterday I had a friend over and together we made scones!!

We used "Pioneer Woman's"  recipe...

Mixing the butter into the flour mixture.

SNAKE BITE!!!

HELP!!!!!!! I've been bitten by a GIANT SNAKE!!!!!!!!

OK, I know it wasn't big at all but, he sure made me jump. :D



P.S. We found him on our pool cover and I was trying to catch him but I made one wrong move and his little tiny mouth went out and caught the end of my finger. ;) I didn't even know that I had been bitten until I looked down and saw a little speck of blood.  :P

Dr. Jobe Martin

Sunday night we went to a mini conference to hear Dr. Jobe Martin speak. It was AMAZING!!

Dr. Martin, a native of Bloomsburg, PA was a biology major at Bucknell University and a 1966 graduate of University of Pittsburgh Dental School. After spending two years in the Air Force, he established a private dental practice at NASA in Houston; then joined the faculty of Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1971; and in 1982 entered Dallas Theological Seminary, graduating in 1986 with a Masters Degree in Systematic Theology. As President of Biblical Discipleship Ministries, Dr. Martin is a frequent speaker on topics such as "Creation vs. Evolution," "Marriage and the Family," "Discipleship," "Biblical Prophecy," and "The New Age Movement." Drama!!

I can't wait!!

On Saturday, May 12, 2012, the Shakespearean Drama Class will be putting on “Much Ado About Nothing” and “An Introduction to Shakespeare” (written by our wonderful director, Mrs. Lee)!



We will be performing at 7:00 pm, Westview Baptist Church, 2500 Sullivan Drive.



You are all invited!


 I will try to get some video but... we'll see how that works out! (It's kinda hard to video yourself when you are acting in both plays. :P)

Birthday Part 4

After we went hiking at Elephant Rocks,Johnson's Shut-ins  and Taum Sauk Trail we finally went to our cabin,  Lilac's Edge.

 Hummingbird Hideaway (sleeps up to 7 people!).

It was really nice...

it came with a microwave, a toaster oven, a coffee maker and a mini fridge!

Our friends who own Lilac's Edge and Hummingbird Hideaway came up with a REALLY awesome idea! You build a fire, then put a giant hollow log on it and stick bamboo into it. The bamboo reacts with an EXTREMELY loud BANG!!

It was, SOOOO cool!!

We stayed one night at the cabin and got home just in time for church. It was the best birthday EVER!!

Birthday Part 3

After Elephant Rock andJohnson's Shut-ins we hiked Taum Sauk trail to Mina Sauk Falls! It was a loooong hike!! But a lot of fun!

This is what the trail looked like at first.:(  The description had said to prepare yourselves for a rough and rugged climb. :P *we laughed*...

...until we saw this...

It got VERY rocky.

It's kinda hard to see in this picture but it was EXTREMELY rocky!!

After a while the canopy opened up.

About halfway down the trail we were rewarded with this spectacular view!

So beautiful!!

The rocks just kept getting bigger!!

We spotted these little flowers.

Like I said they didn't get any smaller.

Almost there!!

Finally at the highest waterfall Missouri Mina Sauk Falls. *sigh*

Dad climbed down to the bottom of the falls

Some parts of the trail had to be cut out of solid rock!!

We were both very tired and hungry once we were finished. But it was a lot of fun! 



P.S. In Birthday Part 2 I made a mistake. Where my dad jumped off it was not 30 feet it was 50!!
